Welcome

Hello all, welcome to my online poker blog.

I've been playing on and off for a decade after being introduced by a friend.

I played regularly for a few years during the poker boom and had a decent record at the micros, particularly Rush and Zoom No Limit Hold'em games (here's one of my graphs).

Around 2012 I began a new career which involved immersing myself completely in study in my spare time, so I had little to no time for poker. However recently this burden has eased and so I have been gradually dipping back in.

I'm an amateur player who still hopes to some day beat the rake.

Testing a hand replayer

Just a quick test of a hand history converter so that I can show you some play. This hand was from one of the DoNs I played last night. I thought this decision was pretty close, and SNGWiz agrees that sticking the stack in is correct here (according to the ICM model). In fact the range of hands we can push is ~{99+, AK, AQs}. I believe this is due to the size of our stack and our need to gain equity in this game where we are the second smallest in terms of chips. Notice how tight I'm playing - only 4% of hands. Just a note on the numbers to the right of each player and his/her chip count: (% time we voluntarily put $ in pot (vp$ip)/ % time we are raising when vp$ip/ Total aggression factor (higher = more aggressive)/ sample size in hands).
